Yeah, but that's really only a small minority. And alot of people SAY they won't bother with GW2, but if it turns out to be amazing, watch them come crawling back.

Everyone craves GW1 Prophecies who played it. If Anet can bring it back (In GW2), all the nay-sayers will come back, mark those words.

Which is why I said: Everyone who says they won't buy GW2 regardless how good it is is talking bullshit. The very fact that they're still here posting/playing GW means they have some interest in GW still. And I don't believe anyone really thinks a "boycott" will work.

This. Guild Wars was the first mmo-type game I've played, and the constant buff/nerf cycle from GW is enough to last me an entire lifetime. Yes, all mmo's have this problem. If GW has taught me one thing, it's that I'm not a fan of the entire mmo genre. Forays into other mmo's while disillusioned with GW have only served to confirm this.

I will treat GW2 like I do any other MMO, and I will try it before I buy it. If it's good, I will get it. If Anet caves in and makes GW2 another lame WoW clone with lame gameplay and lame grind I won't get it. If I can't try it before I buy, I won't get it.

I'm not buying GW2 for a list of reasons that annoy me in GW1
  1. Too much microtransactions, it's good to want to make money, but GW promised they will make the money by selling game boxes, not selling stuff ingame, i do not want to argue if things they sell are not a competitive advantage, they just sell things that should come for free.
  2. MUST play one char, lack of love for multicharacter players. I love playing with several chars, i get bored of playing the same profession for a week and rotate among my other chars, but the title philosophy put multichar players at a disadvantage, because titles are not account wide and pve skills are title dependant.
  3. Trade system FAIL FAIL FAIL, in 5 years they didn't move their lazy guts to make a simple trade system, spamadam is a mess, and trade chat it's the worst idea ever, no a simple search box or list, just a mess.
  4. Elitist and childish playerbase, every one running in fissure armor, ridiculous chaos gloves (anyone believe they look good?), expensive EOTN headgear and any combo of crystalline/obsidian edge/Voltaic Spear Draconic Aegis/Tormented Shield/Celestial Compass, of course all of them running the same pvx build, of course all of them farming like their life depend of ot, of course all of them powertrading (aka, i'll try to find some unaware noob who sell me their extremely rare item for cheap) and of course all of them insulting and bashing any other who dares to use creative (despective) builds.
  5. Promises, promises, promises... GW1 is a messy failure, yet we hear pathetic excuses, we must make it from scratch this feature will be in GW2 It's impossible to do that (lol lol lol IMPOSSIBLE LIKE ESTILIST, WHEN MONEY CALLS IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING)
you can't keep someone by your side with promises of a better future, if you can't do your homework today nobody can't believe you will do it tomorrow, if you make GW1 so an awesome game 5 years ago, and you became it in a microtransaction farming fever korean monster, what prevent you to make the same with GW2?
Sorry guys, i don't want promises of GW2 being better, i want FACTS of GW1 being improved.
    Now you are saying:

HEY guys, GW1 sucks because we are not able to do anything about it, but buy GW2 we promise it will be good

    I want you to say:

HEY guys, GW1 its good because we do our job and a care about our game, but don't forget to buy GW2 it will be awesome!!!

If a buy a car, and it gives me trouble, and it's always in the workshop, the next car i buy wont be of the same brand. GW is just the same.

Bye bye anet, prove me you can do the right things, and i'll buy your next game.

REMEMBER ANET
FACTS! NOT PROMISES.

I doubt I will get GW2...too many broken promises, infrequent communication, miscommunication, slow updates, bad updates, no care for pvp, no new 'real' content, botting, leeching and too much grind. They 'love' their brand, but have a funny way to demonstrate it, and the demonstration speaks louder than their marketing and community efforts.

I also think GW2 will not do as well as, with less focus on PvP, more e-sport type, and more focus on PvE, the 'Guild Wars' brand will not pull in that many new PvE players who hear about games like Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Aion with nice 'fantasy' based names. They should just re-brand Guild Wars 2 to something meaningful.....

What I do not like about GW2 from what I have read...

1. Char..hate them, they killed ascalonians...
2. Being able to 'jump'
3. Underwater areas
4. World servers...limits size of community
5. Griefing in non-instanced areas
6. Grind Wars
7. Higher level caps
8. Hero system (can only take 1 and you are weaker....)
9. Seems to be a lack of structure for PvP
10. Anet Management (or lack of)
11. Making a generic MMO
12. Not really a unique story line..wow dragons...sigh....

Not all the GW1 player base will get GW2, too often I hear they will wait to see if it is any good, see what happens with Diablo 3 etc.

Ill probably buy it, but won't play it at all really due to work and not being at home enough. But id still want to see what its like every now and then. It'll be a complete change from my play time in GW1, where ive had loads of time to play, but thats life you have to accept it.

At this point, I'm still waiting to see more. If they drastically change things to make it more like all the run-of-the-mill mmos out there, then I wont' be getting it. One reason I still play GW and not other mmo games...it is different and I like different.

maybe... I know I will enjoy it for the lore value, if anything.
It just seems like a-net is taking out what made GW1 a good, solid MMO and making it your generic korean grinder. (SEE: Ragnarok Online -> Ragnarok Online 2)
FYI: If I do not get GW2, it is NOT because of a-net's past history. it just seems like it's being built up to be a generic MMO... what I came to GW to escape.

+6000h played on this game and 35 max titles... working on 2nd GWAMM, and I dont want to buy GW2 if it is not in spanish.

The offical webpage is in french, germany and english, they "kicked" our Spanish community manager, and now they are looking for:

Customer Services Representative (French)

Customer Services Representative (German)

But nothing for the Spanish community.
A friend, Admin on GWH (elite spanish fansite) was owned when he post a comment on Facebook, and Anet or NCSoft delete it - more info in spanish.

Spanish people is not happy with Anet, and they will lose a lot of players if they don't translate the game...

I'm admin on GWH.es too, and the relation with Anet for our website is horrible, they dont reply our e-mails and more than a year ago that we have abandoned, actually working on a new home page, but we lost all the illusion.

And yes, my english is horrible XD

For all of you that really aren't going to buy the game because they don't give a sh*t on our/your complaints:
THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT GW1 ANYMORE. THE GAME IS DEAD. THE FIRST DAY GW2 WILL COME OUT NOBODY WILL BE ONLINE. Imo, DO NOT judge GW2 based on your unanswered complaints about gw1. They had a game. It was great. They made a few mistakes. The game died. They're gonna make a new game. Alot of the first games community will come for the sequel. They made mistakes which they will know not to make again. GW2 is a fresh start. GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD!!!!!%#@$^$#@
Best regards,

i am in 2 minds with it, this game still have a bit of play time left for me (little as in i could still be playing it in 3 years time)

i am in 2 minds because final fantasy 14 should be comming out the next year or so, i'm guessing a bit after GW2.

but the thing that is selling the game is the fact GW is a free to play game, sure theres not many updates, constants buff / nerf's but hell what can you ask a free to play game to do, anyway pre asclon is still appealing to me even now, post asclon to my mind wasent that good (just the asclon area)

Game seems pretty generic compared to the first Guild Wars and I don't know anything about the skills or the professions.

Higher level caps, no thanks. Leveling is boring.

The way serves are set up doesn't sound appealing.

Main reason will be how there's so many problems with the first game with balance. Give dervish comparable damage and something other than attack spam. Give mesmers energy, lower recharge, more damage, useful disruption, and stop nerfing them over 'n over in PvE. Make paragons...not suck.

Then I'll consider it.

I've played GW for about 4 years. No other game has held my interest that long. GW2 will be new and interesting initially. Of course I will buy it as soon as it comes out. Whether it will continue to hold my interest like GW has is another story.

It's not just the online fees that have put me off WoW. It has a look that I can't stand. All the grind for gear is a huge put off, too. I don't know how anyone can play that for free let alone pay monthly for it.

GW is almost 5 years old. If you aren't going to buy GW2 and you think GW is garbage, why are you still playing it? If you aren't playing it, why are you still contributing to a GW forum? It doesn't make any sense to me at all.

I love micro-transactions and I hope Anet adds more. There store doesn't seem to offer much. What's stopping me from buying them is how I'm being penalized almost for trying to have fun with skill imbalances.

I have a main and other characters who have high enough titles that relate to skills, so there isn't much problem with grinding. Can't agree there.

IMO all the people still posting or QQ'ing on this forum are full of it when they say: "I'm NOT getting GW2"
You can't tell me that if you liked this game, you're not trying part 2
I still like the game after almost 5 years of playing even though I admit they have been slacking for the latter part of it.
